Fractional ablative skin resurfacing directs thermal energy into the skin via hundreds of tiny microscopic columns. Unsightly and damaged skin is selectively vaporized , and within a few days is replaced with fresh, healthy skin. The healthy skin surrounding the columns helps the columns to heal,often within 3-5 days. The length of healing time is subject to the number of passes with the laser and the area treated. The results of this type of treatment is noticeably tighter skin, improved overall skin appearance and smoothed
out lines and wrinkles.
Patients are given an at home post treatment kit from our office. It is important to stay out of the sun completely for 3-5 days after ablative skin resurfacing. After a period of 3-5 days, patients may wear makeup to cover up any redness they may still have.
